In light of the coming season’s obsession with white, I thought I should look at the best way to successfully pull off wearing white when you are white.  White doesn’t have to wash you out, and with just a few simple rules, us pale faces can stand out as bold as everyone else.

A quick flick through what’s hot this spring/summer proves white is going to play a big role in your wardrobe. Victoria Beckham, Jil Sander, Preen and Alessandro Dell’Acqua are only a few who have featured the return of the oversized white shirt in their spring/summer collections.

I am a redhead with pale skin and I love wearing white and want you to love wearing white too, and that’s why I’m going to let you in on a few tips...

Tip number one... It is important to create a contrast on the top or bottom, if you are wearing a white shirt, layer it with a strong colour (e.g. a black waistcoat or keeping with this season's IT colour, an emerald green jacket like Emma Stone has done here.) Alternatively if that doesn't work for you try a necklace with a strong bold colour.

1.     Mango Military Style Blazer- £44.99
2.     Asos High Waist Trousers in Cotton Twill - £22.00
3.     Dalia White Tunic- £59.00
4.     Grace Hi Vamp Suede Heels- £65.00
5.     Asos Nude With Black Back Seam Tights- £6.00

P.S. I know the blazer doesn’t look emerald green but that’s the description given on the Mango website.

Tip Number Two… Or you can also create a contrast on the bottom by wearing your white shirt with a bold colour such as dark jeans; disco pants which I LOVE at the moment or a skirt.

1.     Missguided Klarita Zip detail disco pants in Cobalt - £26
2.     Topshop oversize tunic shirt -  £38
3.     Asos Curb Chain Triangle necklace -  £21
4.     Supra Vaider Gold High Top Sneakers - £80
5.     Made Ndonondono Set Of Four Bangles -  £34

Tip Number Three…The LWD (Little White Dress) is replacing the LBD (Little Black Dress) this season. Virginal white was all over the catwalks of SS13 from Chanel and Dior to Givenchy and DKNY. White dresses can make us Redheads look gorgeous as the bright white will light up your features and contrast beautifully with your Red hair.  If you decide to go for a white dress this summer here are a few top tips for wearing the trend this summer…

          1. If you are off on a night out pop in a bit of colour, match your white dress with some bright shoes or a bright clutch bag and you arre guarnateed to stand out amongst the crowd.
2.Give your LWD a western edge with some cowboy boots and a tassle bag. I LOVE this trend and it is all over the magazines at the moment…check out Companys latest magazine it has some great trend tips for the LWD this summer.
           3. Makeup tip… keep for your face polished. This means adding a bit of bronzer to your face keeping your cheeks rosy and lips a darker shade of your natural colour. This will hel[ make your features bodly stand out as the white colour can often was out your features.
           4.  Gold is THE colour for your accessories, try a chunky gold necklace and some bold gold bangles, the gold colour will draw out the beautiful bronze in your Redhair.
            5. Lastly if bright white isn’t for you opt for a cream coloured or off white dress as the warmer tone can sometimes suit our complexions better than pure white.

Asos Coral Pink Dress - Charity Shop - £5.95
River Island Black Heels - Charity Shop - £9.99
Black and Gold Belt- Primark- £2.00
Black and Gold Bangles - Charity Shop- £1.45.

It's snowing...again! But that's not going to stop me making the most of my only day off this week! So I thought now was as good a time as any to start my 'Easy on the pocket' posts.
While scouring the charity shops/thrift shops Edinburgh has to offer I came across this gorgeous 60's style dress. It immediately brightened up my day bringing a ray of sunshine to the dark and grey outside!

Can Redheads wear pink? The question has been a source of much debate for years now as many would say bright colours such as pink and purple clash with their hair. The rule generally follows that paler pinks and coral pinks complement us Redheads better than hot pinks. However saying that Emma Stone rocked a Christopher Kane watermelon pink sheath dress on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon and I think she looks stunning, but what do you think? Is she rocking this look, or is it too much?

Coral pink looks good on Redheads as it is a great mix of orange and pink which helps show off your best features. As the dress is a vibrant colour the tone of the shoe should be neutral which is why the black shoe and black tights work well with the coral pink. In order to break up the two blocks of solid colour I accessorised the dress with a black and gold belt and black and gold bracelets. The gold in the accessories works really well when combined with the orange accents of the dress.

It is a good year to be a redhead with pantone announcing that emerald green is their colour of the year. Emerald is THE colour to wear this year and it will feature across lifestyle accessories, beauty products, colour palettes and MOST importantly fashion.

Redheads you can’t go wrong with emerald green…redheaded celebrities have been proving this for years.

Emerald green is complimentary to us redheads as red and green sit across from each on the colour wheel, therefore bringing out the best tones in one another. Redheads tend to have fair-medium complexions and this rich gemstone hue can highlight your glow rather than washing you out like other colours. Therefore redheads all around the world this is your year to shine…don’t hide that beautiful auburn hair let it flow freely for everyone to see!
Here are a few tips on how to add a bit of green into your wardrobe this year…

Tip No One… Dark colours are the most favoured during the winter months; I know my wardrobe is filled with a lot of blacks and dark browns. Try adding an emerald coloured statement piece to your outfit for example a handbag or clutch.

1.    Cath Kidston Mini Zip Bag Mini Dot Emerald Green - £24.00
2.    Juicy Couture Leni Charm Clutch Bag - £150.00
3.    Asos Satchel Bag With Straight Flap – £22.00
4.    Precious bags, Emerald Green Clutch Bag - £20.99
5.    Clean ID Satchel - £34.00

Tip No Two… Emerald coloured jewellery adds an exotic, luxurious look to any outfit… especially in light of this season’s love of blinged-up accessories.

1.    Asos Stone Cross Stud Earrings - £6.00
2.    Krystal Swarovski Square Necklace – RRP- 225.00 – At the moment £65.00
3.    Asos Pyramid Gem Earrings - £8.00
4.    Asos Gem Plate And Spike Waist Belt - £20.00

Tip No Three... Grab some emerald green makeup… maybe polish on the nails or for a more dramatic look try an emerald green eye shadow (Nars Cosmetics do a really nice one - http://www.narscosmetics.co.uk/color/eyes/duo-eyeshadow/misfit).
Tip No Four... Or how about mixing a pair of emerald coloured jeans with a white shirt or top or vice versa.
Tip No Five... Last but by no means least heels… and as Manolo Blahnik said ‘You put high heels on and you change’ – a perfect pair of emerald heels will definitely make a good statement on your wardrobe.
