Cut Out Shoulder Crop Top
With cut out shoulder crop tops being a major trend this summer I thought I would try my hand at creating one from an old dress that I was about to throw out. These cut out shoulder crop tops are perfect for festivals, holidays, nights out. The cheeky cut out detail adds edge to this seasons must have item. This crop top goes perfectly with a pair of cut off high-waisted denim shorts. This DIY took me about 30 minutes and is really simple the how to guide will follow.
Ginge's How To Cut Out Shoulder Crop Top
What You Need:
Old Top or Dress that can be cut into a crop top
Pins
Needle and Thread or Sewing Machine
You need a dress or top that has sleeves I chose short sleeves as I wanted a summery crop top that I could wear with my new high-waisted denim shorts.
You then need to cut your dress or top to the length you would like you crop to be, bearing in mind that you need to leave 2 cm seam allowance for hemming.
Hem and sew the bottom of the crop top this can be done by hand or as I did on the sewing machine.
In order to create the cut out shoulder section I used half a saucer and drew around it. I then repeated this on the other side and cut around the chalked lines. You then need to pin and sew these cut out sections. I used the guide of the existing seam to make sure that both sides of the crop top were equal.
Ta Dah your cut out crop top is ready for the summer!
